Welcome
to the Lake Sutherland House: A lakefront vacation rental home where
you can plan on a variety of outdoor and inside activities.
The Lake Sutherland House
is situated 17 miles West of Port Angeles, on the Olympic Peninsula
of Washington State. Day trips from the Sutherland area stretch from
a visit to Victoria, Canada to the Washington Costal areas. Hurricane
Ridge is within a half hour drive and is great fun in the winter or
summer.
 
There are two homes, side
by side, that complete The Lake Sutherland House.
The main home, a 2400 square
foot, three level home has three bedrooms and two baths, plus an additional
outside shower. With two king sized beds, one double and two futons,
it provides ample sleeping for twelve people.
 
The large kitchen includes
features such as a Jenn-Air Cook Top with all attachments, built in
blender / mixer, instant hot water, as well as all common
appliances, dinnerware and cookware. Washer and dryer are on site.
Picnic just outside of the
kitchen - with a large deck that provides a charcoal barbecue and
outside furniture. (Bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid). Another
picnic table is located on the large dock. The front deck also has gates to keep your dog kenneled while at the home.
Don't forget to sit in the
spa and gaze at the stars. The spa overlooks Lake Sutherland and can
be enjoyed in the summer or wintertime. Evening fun...Enjoy the lakeside firepit.
The intercom / sound system
provides music throughout the home, or can be limited to separate
areas Bring your Ipod along and hook it up with your favorite songs..
On the lower level, through a sliding
glass door, adjacent to the dock is a wet bar. Here also is where
you can cozy up to a beautiful soapstone wood stove and enjoy a movie
from the TV/DVD/VHS, complete with Directr TV. An additional full sized fridge is on this level.
The master bedroom, on the
upper level is a very special room, with a sliding glass door to its
own balcony.........a perfect place to sip morning coffee and take in the view.
An internet card is available with a $200. refundable deposit. This is an at&t wireless card. It may need to be downloaded into your laptop, but with newer model computers, it is quite easy. The at&t card needs to be arranged at least one week prior to your arrival.

Recreation Home
Canoe and Kayak rentals
are available through Discovery Lodging. Renting a kayak to enjoy
while your at the home is also a fun idea and can be reserved ahead
of time. Cost of each unit runs $20 per day and must be rented for each day of your stay. These watercraft are shared with our other homes and are rented on a first come, first serve basis. It is recommended that you ask about them early in order to ensure their availability.
THE AREA
There are many hikes around
the area. A favorite is The Spruce Railroad Hike. (Also a great
bike trip). It borders the back of Lake Crescent and is located about
5 miles from our home. The area surrounding the home is also private
enough that you can just go for a nice walk or bike ride right from
there. This is also nice for pet owners.
Many fun activities are near-by. We have a
